Lakers beaten by Purples in 4th Region semifinal

The Mighty Lakers fell in defeat to Bowling Green on Monday night in the semi-finals of the 4th Region tournament, 57-48, at Western Kentucky’s Diddle Arena.

The 16-13 Glasgow Scotties didn’t have much time to celebrate their first regional appearance in four years as they were knocked out of the 4th Region tournament, 62-50, by the 14-13 Russell County Lakers Wednesday night in Bowling Green.

Lakers capture 16th district crown

After being beaten by the 21-7 Metcalfe County Hornets twice earlier in the season, the Mighty Lakers (13-13) held off the Hornets to claim the 16th district tournament championship with a 71-59 win on Friday night.

Lady Lakers downed by Barren at Region

The Russell County Lady Lakers (12-18) had their season cut short as they were beaten by Barren County, 48-29, in the opening round of the 4th Region Tournament at Western Kentucky University on Monday night.
